Notes

I remember being at one of my family's boring parties when I was 12 years old in 1971. They let me bring my transistor radio so I could entertain myself with Casey Casum's American Top 40 on a Sunday night, and that night the number 1 song out of nowhere was Rod Stewart's Maggie May. How could a guy have such a raspy voice and make a number 1 hit? I had no idea this would become one of the most popular songs of all time, and that Rod Stewart would go on to become one of entertainment's great sex symbols. I just heard him say that he was going to collect his books and get on back to school.
