Notes

This is a beautiful but quite serious song by Joan Baez that brings up a memory from my early 20s. I was volunteering for a social service shelter in 1984, and I offered to play 2 songs on my guitar for a talent show we had. The first was a satirical version of Puff the Magic Dragon, where I made up the words so I had the lyrics in front of me. Then I "attempted" to play this song, "All The Weary Mothers", but never realized that you get a little nervous when you play and sing in front of 30 people, so without a lyric sheet I completely forgot the lyrics. Needless to say, I haven't tried out at open mics lately.
