In A Gadda Da Vida is an absolutely great 3 minute song. When we had the album at home growing up I was amazed that it was over 17 minutes long! And it took up the entire album side! Bands did not do that in 1968. Radio play of the cut down 3 minute version made this a huge hit, but Iron Butterfly never repeated the success afterwards.
I don't think I've ever listened to In A Gadda Da Vida from start to finish. Until I found it on Youtube.
