Notes

Changes always plays in the background of my life when I'm going through some kind of transition. I think it's the universal song for those times in your life when it's simply unavoidable that things will change. Bowie wrote it about his own musical changes, but I think everyone can relate to being reflective as changes come and go in the roller coaster of life.

I grew up with Bowie's live performance (can't find it on Youtube) on a double live album that came out in the 1970s. Usually the words are

And these children that you spit on as they try to change their world

In this performance, Bowie changes the word to sh-t and does a special emphasis on

And these children THAT THEY SH-T ON!

RIP David Bowie. 2016 was a horrible year for losing rockers from this era.
