This is one in the long list of songs by Bruce Springsteen about the hard struggles of the working class guy who's just trying to get by. I saw Springsteen once in 1978 with great tickets at the Boston Garden from Dona G. Then I saw him 34 years later in 2012 at Fenway Park. He's still the most fantastic performer you'll ever see, and his performance of Badlands was incredible in 2012, as well as this performance in 2009.
