This song simply rocks out. You don't even have to like motorcycles. It was written by Mars Bonfire for the band Steppenwolf who made it famous in the late 60's. Born To Be Wild is considered one of the early classics of heavy metal and an anthem for bikers. It was then used as the theme song for the movie "Easy Rider".
I remember seeing Steppenwolf in one of my first concerts as the opening band for Aerosmith. As my friends and I were struggling to find our seats Steppenwolf came out and launched into Born to be Wild and the crowd really went wild. It was totally unexpected for the opening band to take over the concert with an opening song like this, but Born To Be Wild delivered.
