Released as a B side single with Hey Jude (wow, what a combo) Revolution is John Lennon's response to the Vietnam War. All of the turmoil and violence of the 60s is captured, but John ends it on an optimistic note. You know it's going to be -. All right. His last "all right" is really a desperate scream.
A slow version Revolution #1 appeared on the White Album, a real contrast to the better known loud and crazy version. I was pleasantly surprised to find a live performance by the Beatles on YouTube.
